Frank Stella - Abstract Sculptures

After seeing Frank Stella's huge abstract sculptures at the new Whitney Museum (NYC), I knew I had to teach my students his work. It was so awesomely overwhelming that I couldnt stop thinking about it.

Our students looked at his work and discussed a bit about abstract art and what the artist is trying to convey through lines, colors and shapes.

Students created their own mini- abstract sculptures

Middle School-Age // Special Education Art Lesson

Oh, what a fun lesson for the fall season! Students loved creating their large scale pumpkins.
Using a step by step approach to drawing the pumpkins, we all worked together. Once students created their pumpkins they then added Kusama's famous polka dots! Coloring each section and then added the triangles to the outside surrounding.
They ALL came out beautiful!
